Apple's Wi-Fi + 3G iPad To Be Available On April 30th

Reports were floating around yesterday that Apple was still on track to ship the 3G version of the iPad in "late April," and when they say "late," they really mean "late." The company has issued a new release this morning assuring pre-sale customers that their Wi-Fi + 3G iPad will be shipped and made available for delivery on April 30th.

Also, for customers who are hoping to grab one from a retail store, the 3G iPads will be available in Apple retail stores (no mention of Best Buy this time) on that same day starting at 5:00PM (local time, we assume). We think that Apple are selling this model exclusively in their own retail stores due to the added complexity during setup; Apple admits that users buying one in retail will be offered a "ree Personal Setup service to every customer who buys an iPad at the store, helping them customize their new iPad by setting up their email, loading their favorite apps from the App Store, and more."

If you need a reminder, the 3G iPad has an AT&T Micro-SIM card that can connect to AT&T's network on a month-by-month contract. The 16GB model is $629, while the 32GB version is $729 and the 64GB model is $829, with unlimited data being $30/month and smaller plans costing a bit less.
