Holy Hertz! Eizo Steps Out With 240Hz 24-Inch Gaming Monitor

The 4K revolution is on, and not just in the HDTV department. ASUS got things going with its 31.5" PQ321 Ultra HD monitor, and now EIZO is stepping up to the plate with an equally impressive panel. While it's not boasting a 4K resolution, it does claim to be the world's first 240Hz gaming monitor.

If you're unfamiliar, 240Hz panels generally mask ghosting and flickering, particularly with fast-moving titles and high-action scenes. If you're an avid first-person shooter gamer, having a 240Hz display is a real boon.

The 23.5" panel sports a Full HD (1920x1080) resolution, 400 nits of brightness, a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, and under 1ms response time. On the rear, there's a DisplayPort, DVI-D port, and an HDMI socket. There's no word on a price just yet, but those who crave a silky image might just spring for whatever premium EIZO places on it. (Psst... you aren't the only one wishing for a 30" version!)
