ASUS is making its presence known at CES this year, and in doing so is unleashing the new Transformer Book Chi Series. The 2-in-1 detachable laptops range in size from 8.9” to 12.5” and can be equipped with screens featuring a resolution of up to WQHD (2560x1440). The smallest member of the family is the T90 Chi, which comes with an 8.9-inch WXGA (1280x800) IPS display. Powering the device is a quad-core Intel Atom Z3775 processor, and the T90 Chi can be equipped with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Microsoft’s ongoing “12 Days of Deals” promotion is still trucking along and today’s deal markdowns yet another ASUS product. In this case, Microsoft is discounting the ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA by $200 to an attractive $299 price point. In case you didn’t already know, the TP500LA features a 15.6” HD touchscreen display that can be rotated 360 degrees to that it lays against the bottom of the laptop’s chassis. The ASUS Transformer Book T100 packs an impressive list of features into a diminutive chassis and companion keyboard dock. After working with system, it's clear that ASUS is hoping to capture lightning in a bottle, for the second time... It has been six years since ASUS launched the first Eee PC and kicked off a miniature revolution in mobile computing. Eee PC models weren't fast, they weren't particularly well-featured, and they didn't have the best displays. Is it a notebook or is it a tablet? Like a growing number of Windows 8 devices, the Transformer Book from Asus is both, depending on how you utilize it, and it's finally showing up to the party. Asus first introduced the Transformer Book all the way back in June of last year, and now eight months later, you can pre-order the device, provided you pony up the requisite $1,480 MacMall wants for it.
