Earlier this month, Logitech bolstered the featureset of its Harmony Ultimate and Smart Control remotes by adding support for SONOS' wireless speaker system. Today, it's become clear that the company didn't want to risk the Harmony brand leaving our head, as it's now added support for one of the hottest products out there: Nest Learning Thermostat. With this new functionality, you'll never have to endure getting up off of the couch while watching Game of Thrones just because the room temperature is as cold as the hearts of many on the show. Instead, you can simply pick up the remote and beam your... Read more...
When Logitech revealed its new Wireless All-in-One Keyboard TK820 last month, it immediately caught my eye. After upgrading my home theater PC to Windows 8, I've often thought it would be nice to take advantage of some of the new gesture controls while browsing the web and using my HTPC from the comfort of my couch. I looked at keyboards a little bit after upgrading but hadn't found quite what I wanted so I put the idea of getting a different keyboard on hold. When I was given the chance to test the TK820 for myself, I jumped at the opportunity and hoped this could be the keyboard I had been searching... Read more...
One of the world’s premiere PC mouse makers wants you to ditch your mouse. Logitech’s new Wireless All-in-One Keyboard TK820 has a built-in in touchpad that is meant to completely replace your mouse. Keyboard touchpads aren’t new, but the TK820's touchpad is more than a way to move your cursor: it also accepts up to 13 Windows 8 gestures – not to mention the zoom and swipe gestures that you’ve been using on tablets. The keyboard features Logitech’s PerfectStroke technology, which makes for even key depression, even if your finger catches only a portion of the... Read more...
Logitech is going for a certain look and feel with its Z600 Bluetooth stereo speakers, which is to say that it’s trying for a sleek, high-end-looking product that matches the luster of ultrabooks. (Especially MacBooks, it would seem.) The twin speakers are quite fetching, with graceful curves and a long, tall stance. They’re sort of an aluminum-white in color, with speaker grills covering most of the outside and a white stripe down one side that contains the power button, Bluetooth button, and 3.5mm input. The flat top offers a volume control that you can manipulate by gliding your... Read more...
Logitech has a long history of developing products for consumers, who traditionally have valued style and comfort, perhaps more so than corporate purchasers. Its business components are stylish, too, and are designed to match durability with comfort. To give us a feel for what Logitech can do for business users, the company sent us two of its headsets: We took the USB-powered Logitech H650e ($89.99) and the wireless H820e ($199.99) for a spin and have our thoughts posted here...  Logitech H650e and H820e Enterprise Headsets Review... Over the past few years, many companies have altered their approach to the enterprise. Where IT departments once made purchasing recommendations based entirely on their own view of the company’s requirements, many administrators now get (often unsolicited) input from employees who don’t want to get saddled with computers, tablets, or accessories that don’t fully meet their needs. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for companies to let employees choose their work laptops or make suggestions. With so many employees influencing purchases, computer- and accessory makers have been quick... Read more...
Apple is getting even more serious about gaming. While games on iOS devices have been part and parcel of Apple’s mobile strategy since day one, the company is taking the next step forward--it’s actively facilitating the development of game controllers for iOS games by third-party companies. AppleInsider snagged some slides from a WWDC presentation that outlined some possible form factor options and also named Logitech and Moga as hardware partners. There are two styles--a form-fitting controller wherein the iOS device rests inside the unit and a standalone gamepad. Both ostensibly would... Read more...
