iTunes 10.2.2 Update Fixes iPad Syncing Snafu

iTunes 10.2.2 Update Fixes iPad Syncing Snafu

iTunes has been updated to version 10.2.2 and includes a few minor bug fixes, one of which is an issue where iTunes may become unresponsive when syncing an iPad. It wouldn't have been so bad except that Apple insists on maintaining tight integration between its mobile products and iTunes software.

Version 10.2.2 also addresses a few other quirks, including:
  • Resolves an issue which may cause synching photos with iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to take longer than necessary
  • Fixes a problem where video previews on the iTunes Store may skip while playing
  • Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance
In short, the update is intended to make iTunes suck a little bit less (our words, not Apple's). In addition, the 10.2.2 update addresses memory corruption issues in the WebKit framework for Windows users that could enable a man-in-the-middle attack to occur while browsing the iTunes Store via iTunes on a PC.

You can grab the latest update by opening iTunes and clicking on Help > Check for Updates, or by downloading direct from Apple here.

How long did it take for them to come out with this fix? I know it took Apple a hell of a long time to finally acknowledge the bug with facetime on iOS and took quite a bit longer for them to actually fix it.

I'm running 10.2.1 but I don't use the store, an iphone, an ipod, or an iphone so I didn't notice any problems. I've had this version for quite some time if I remember correctly. I'd be upset if i was a sheep and couldn't get my itunes fix.

Update: I downloaded and installed 10.2.2 - the ui is still ugly as sin and it still plays my mp3's. Good job apple.

I downloaded it last night and it rendered my machine useless... BSOD on boot (repeat infinity). Had to do a system restore. Good job apple.

Guess Apple isn't so user friendly after all - ha! Causing lock ups and BSODs. *shakes head*

But wait - Apple products just work, right?

I bet iTunes is still slow as ***.

I personally do not use iTunes although I am sure at least 2 members of my extended family do. I use Foobar as my audio player and it's capabilities seem to be much more well rounded to me than this one for sure.
