iBUYPOWER Adds Six-Core AMD CPU To New Gaming Desktops

Another new CPU launch, another new wave of desktop PC releases that offer it. CyberPower kicked things off this morning with new machines based around AMD's new Phenom II X6 1090T, and now iBUYPOWER is following up with upgrades to a few systems of their own. The Chimera 2-Q, Gamer Fire and Gamer HAF systems are all seeing updates, giving consumers the ability to buy a bargain-priced six-core chip with their new pre-built desktop.

The Phenom II processors all feature AMD’s Turbo Core Speed Technology, which automatically overclocks the CPU for a quick burst of speed when opening a program or batch processing images and files.  The intelligent technology can increase the processor speed by as much as 19%, and these new systems get started at just $999, or far less than similar rigs with quad-core Intel chips. AMD may have just started a low-price revolution in the gaming desktop arena, and that's definitely something we can get behind.

AMD is definitely keeping the pressure on Intel.

Intel may lead in raw performance per watt, but bang for your buck, AMD is the way to go!!!!!!!

You are right about Intel is leader of raw power on processors. But... While AMD are consider good deal at low cost to buy. For my personal PC that I prefer use Intel CPU for high performance games and muilt tasking as Hyper-Threading Technology.

Hopefully I'll have the pics up by tomorrow, but let me tell you: These iBUYPOWER cases look a LOT better than the picture up top lets on. There is a lot of detail in the paint and case styling that is missed in those graphics.

I'll post the pics tomorrow, and a more complete review after I get a chance to set it up to dual-boot Linux, but so far this system rates pretty high on the awesomeness scale.

The new systems, having a 6-core AMD processor and a relative price sounds like a superb option.

Looking forward to see the pics etc 3vi1, and realneil I bet we will see one of these puppies up for grabs shortly. I don't have any extra info, but generally something new around here system wise seems to be a first choice, no to mention they have shown a maingear and ibuypower and a CyberPower with this new tope end AMD 6 core beauty. So I would say odds are in it's favor.
