eLocity A7: A 7" Tegra 2-Powered Slate Rivaling The Big Boys

Another tablet PC? You bet! It'll be a tough time for these lesser-name companies to compete with Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy Tab, but if there's any way they can, it'll be on price. The eLocity A7 probably isn't on your radar, but it may be after we tell you that it's on sale now for just $369.99, which is far less than most others on the market currently.

The A7 is a 7" tablet that runs Android 2.2 and is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset. The company claims that this slate is tailor made for gaming, and it also has a microSD card slot, an HDMI output and support for 1080p video playback. There's also a USB port, a capacitive touch panel (800x480) and a front-facing 1.3MP camera. There should also be a model out with 3G support, but that one will almost definitely sell for over $400. So, can bargain basement tablets compete with mainstream tablets? Time (and sales figures) will tell.
