has let the press know about a “special event” that’s happening on May 22nd at CTIA
, and we’re left to speculate about what that announcement might be. In typical teaser fashion, Verizon sent out a note without any real details; sometimes, companies will throw us little hints with these things, but that’s not the case with this one. It just says, “Save the date” and “Join Verizon Wireless for a special announcement at CTIA.”
And so we wonder. The company could announce the availability of the Samsung Galaxy S4
or HTC One
, both of which are hot, eagerly-awaited, high-end smartphones; rumors have Verizon availability for those handsets pegged at more or less that time frame, so that would make sense.
It’s also possible that Verizon will unveil the Nokia Lumia
928, which would be the successor to the excellent Nokia Lumia 928. Considering that we know an awful lot about those first two phones and much less about the latter, a new Lumia would make for a more exciting event.
Of course, there could also be news regarding Verizon’s networks or services--more LTE rollouts, new price tiers for service, and so on--but in any case, we’ll have to sit tight and see.
