Sony's SmartWatch On Sale For $150 At Verizon Wireless

A few months ago, a Kickstarter project by the name of "Pebble" made some huge waves by raking in over a million dollars in funding sales. Suddenly, intelligent watches seem to be all the rage again, despite being a product category that largely died years back due to flaky support and bad battery life. Is it time for the segment to make a comeback? Sure seems it, as even Sony's getting back in the loop. The company's new SmartWatch is now available at Verizon Wireless, making it majorly accessible to millions of customers who already rely on VZW for cellular service.

Specifications:
  • Screen Size : 1.3” OLED display
  • Resolution : 128 x 128 pixels
  • Digital watch face : Always visible, even when not connected to phone
  • Material : Made of aluminum and high polished plastics
  • Notification : Vibration and display
  • Reisistance : Dust and splash proof
  • Watchband adapter : 20mm
  • Battery Life (Approx) : 3-4 days typical usage, up to 14 days standby
  • Screen Color : 65k (16 bits)
  • Operating System Compatibility : Android release: 2.1 and up
The watch enables users to connect their Android smartphone using Bluetooth and turn the SmartWatch into an information center that sends updates directly from one’s smartphone to their wrist. With a tap and a swipe, they can receive email, text messages, weather, Facebook and Twitter updates. Customers can also download apps from the Google Play store to fully customize the experience.

It's on sale now for just under $150; still eager to jump on this if you passed on one of those homemade iPod nano watches?

Shades of *** Tracy ! But reading email on a 3.3 cm display is a task I gladly leave to others....

Wow ! I hadn't realised that the given name of one of the most famous fictional detectives of all time - at least to those who grew up on newspaper cartoons - would be blotted out by HH's «indecency detector» ! Isn't that carrying censorship and bowdlerism just a tad too far ?...

And it's made by Sony! So you definitely know that by putting it on your wrist you're not entering into an agreement to give them your kidneys.
