If you want further evidence that Samsung
has supplanted Apple
in many ways, look no further than the fact that Best Buy
will now feature Samsung Experience Shops in 1,400 of its locations, starting this month.
“At the Samsung Experience Shops, consumers can experience Samsung’s full range of mobile products including smartphones, tablets, laptops, connected cameras and accessories, all in one location,” said Samsung in an emailed statement. “The shops enable consumers to interact with and buy Samsung’s latest mobile products and experience how the devices connect together to enrich their lives.”
Some locations will also feature Samsung Smart Service and Samsung Experience Consultants to help customers choose, activate, and set up their devices. The largest Samsung Experience Shops will occupy 460 square feet of floor space and will include a Samsung Connected Solutions area to demo features such as sharing content across multiple screens.
In other words, Samsung has so permeated the mobile landscape that a huge electronics retailer like Best Buy feels that giving a single company prized space in its brick-and-mortar stores (not to mention a special section on the Best Buy website) is a good strategy.
