Samsung Introduces Business-Minded Galaxy Pro Froyo Smartphone

Another Galaxy, so soon? Samsung knows when they have a hit on their hands, and the Galaxy line of products are most definitely "hits." The Galaxy S has sold over ten million units worldwide, and the company just unveiled the Galaxy Tab 10.1, a larger version of the hot-selling Galaxy Tab. Now, it's time for a slightly different spin on things. The Samsung Galaxy Pro is very different than the Galaxy phones we're used to seeing, and looks more like a DROID Pro or BlackBerry than a Galaxy S. This "Pro" smartphone has a 2.8" touch panel, a portrait QWERTY keyboard and a somewhat underwhelming CPU compared to the superphones that have become the norm these days.

This phone is unique in that it supports two input types: touch and keyboard. It runs atop Android 2.2 (Froyo), and has access to the Android Market. There's also the Social Hub Premium for wrapping together your social networking sites, a 3MP camera, an 800MHz CPU, 320x240 resolution display, 3.5mm headphone jack, A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, accelerometer, light, digital compass, proximity and 512MB of storage (plus a microSD card slot). There's also a 1350mAh battery, and while no price has been mentioned yet, it'll be available during the second quarter in the UK market followed by other European countries, Middle East, South East Asia and India.

Samsung Social Hub Premium is ideal for juggling work and personal communications, managing multiple social networks and receiving high volumes of messages and emails. The Social Hub Premium brings together email, SNS and IM accounts to a single inbox, for simplified, instant access to all communications. Twitter feeds and Facebook updates, work and personal emails and text messages are collated in one central contact list. Furthermore, the Galaxy Pro is equipped with the "Think Free" Office Document Editor, for viewing and editing MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents on-the-move.

The Samsung Galaxy Pro's dual-input is a combination of a touch-screen and QWERTY keyboard, for swift, accurate typing, the QWERTY keyboard provides desktop-computing accuracy, while the touch-screen offers fast fingertip control. Together, they provide an efficient and enhanced user experience.

The Samsung Galaxy Pro is equipped with a 3.0 Megapixel camera for still image or video capture. Pictures can be viewed on the clear and bright 2.8" display before being uploaded online, supported by WiFi and Bluetooth capability.

The Samsung Galaxy Pro will be available during the second quarter in the UK market followed by other European countries, Middle East, South East Asia and India.

Is it just me... it looks like a blend of (1) Nokia e series (2)Blackberry (3) the Motorola Charm.

I dont know.... for some reason, Android doesnt feel like a business oriented phone. It doesnt feel that way, unless the manufacturer can put a seriously good UI on top to make it such. and not make it all laggy etc.

Did anyone buy a Droid Pro Smart phone? I'm guessing this will go the same route.
