Razer Orbweaver Stealth Now Available to Pre-Order

Gamer peripheral maker Razer is launching a new version of its Orbweaver keypad with quiet keys. Like the original, the Orbweaver Stealth Edition uses mechanical key switches, only now it offers silent tactile feedback. According to Razer, each key has an optimized actuation force of 45g and a reduced actuation distance of 2mm, letting click-happy gamers issue a barrage of commands at a faster rate.

The Orbweaver Silent Edition also boasts 20 fully programmable keys and an 8-way directional thumbpad for input. On the comfort side of things, there's an adjustable hand, thumb, and palm rest modules to help reduce hand fatigue during those extended gaming sessions.

Other features include a backlit keyboard, unlimited customizable profiles via the Razer Synapse 2.0 software, unlimited macro lengths, and instantaneous switching between 8 key maps.

The Orbweaver Silent Edition is available to pre-order now for $130 with estimated shipping in 3-5 business days.

I tried out the Nostromo gaming pad some time ago but just never really gotten used to it (returned it). Has anyone taken to using one of these most of the time for their gaming? If so, how do you like it?

Sometimes Razer's releases of "new" products irritates me, and I'm pretty sure I've ranted about this before.

They literally very recently came out with the Orbweaver as the successor to the Nostromo, and now you have the "Orbweaver stealth" with minute differences and improves that's just devalued your "new" product and made you feel like your missing out on the "latest"

I just couldn't see myself ever getting used to something like that. The Nostromo I've seen but never used but it just looks to awkward. I'm sure if you can use it then you can out do the normal mouse/keyboard people but for now I think id just have to stick to what I got.

Also OSunday, don't they do that with alot of products? I'm sure you are not alone.

Haha yeah that's why I was saying I'd ranted about it before:p

I actually have a nostromo and it's not awkward to use, and I was able to justify buying it since it was only $30 on a woot-off deal for razer products

Yeah I understand that. I bought my Razer Carcharias last year when they were doing 50% off everything in the store. I was shooting for a keyboard but everything was sold out by time I looked around and since I needed a headset I got the carcharias for $40.
