Oyster App for iOS Offers Up All-You-Can-Eat eBooks for $9.95 a Month

Twilight Zone fans might remember poor Henry Bemis (played by Burgess Meredith). Bemis loved books more than most but could never quite find the time to read them. That is, until a nuclear war breaks out and he finds himself all alone, except for a library full of books. There's a twist (isn't there always in the Twilight Zone?) that turns his utopia into a hellish landscape, but the point is, if you're like Bemis and find your passion in the printed page, you may love Oyster, a new app for iOS users.

Oyster offers unlimited eBooks for just $9.95 per month. Those who sign up will have access to more than 100,000 titles across every genre, each available anywhere, anytime, with a single tap.

Oyster

"When we started working on Oyster last year, we were focused on delivering the best all-in-one reading experience. From the typography in our reader to the technology under the hood we’ve tried to consider each detail in making the product as seamless and enjoyable as possible," Oyster says.

There's a social aspect to the apps as well, You can keep up with what your friends are reading and recommending, and you can share your own cultivated library with others.

Oyster was designed and developed for mobile. The reader includes five different themes to choose from, each intended to make reading on your iPhone a pleasure rather than a chore. Intrigued? If so, you can request an invitation, which Oyster will dole out on a first-come, first-served basis.
