Nokia Intros E72 And 5530 XpressMusic Handsets

Nokia Intros E72 And 5530 XpressMusic Handsets

Nokia's been a real roll of late, pumping out more handsets than we can even keep track of. To that end, the company is dishing out two more higher-end units today in the E72 and 5530 XpressMusic. The former isn't drastically different than the recently launched E71 and E71x, packing a slim smartphone enclosure with a full QWERTY keyboard. The phone ships with the Symbian S60 operating system, providing users with easy access to IM, email, MMS and all other smartphone amenities.

According to Nokia, the E72 is equipped with a "desktop like email experience" found on the more expensive E75, and it also ships with a 5MP camera and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Naturally, the cellphone is also equipped with a range of Ovi services, not to mention an A-GPS module, Quickoffice and an estimated ship date of Q3 2009 / price tag of €350.

Next up is the 5530 XpressMusic, a more compact version of the heralded 5800 XpressMusic that utilizes a touchscreen interface, a scrolling Contacts Bar, shortcuts to popular social networks, a stainless steel frame and your choice of five colors. As the phone's name implies, multimedia playback is at the heart here. Thus, Nokia provides this one with 27 hours of playback time and a 4GB memory card for storing tunes and videos. The 2.9" display provides plenty of real estate for checking out emails and album art, and the Bluetooth headset support ensures that cord-free listening won't be a problem. Expect this one to ship next quarter for €199.
