Nokia's been focusing pretty intently on the high-end, smartphone
market with its most recent offerings. Between the Maemo 5-powered N900
and the X6, it's easy to tell that the company is striving to stay
relevant in a market that's being increasingly dominated by HTC and
Apple. But that said, Nokia still has quite a few customers on lower
tiers, so it makes sense to see a new pair of mid-range handsets for
those not quite ready to take the plunge on a smartphone (particularly
in markets outside of the US).
Both of these fashionable sliders sport 3G modules, and both of 'em are certainly made for those who place a high value on design. Both the Nokia 6700 slide and Nokia 7230 are available in a variety of colors, and both are expected to become available in the first quarter of 2010, and the retail prices before taxes and subsidies are anticipated to be EUR 160 for the Nokia 6700 slide, and EUR 100 for the Nokia 7230. Who knows if they'll ever come to the US, but there's always the import trick if you just have to have one.
