NVIDIA Supercharges Black Ops 2 Performance with GeForce 310.54 (Beta) Drivers

Now that you've called in sick to work or decided to skip this morning's chemistry lab in order to play through a few more missions in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, you might as well squeeze the most performance out of the game as possible. To help you do that, NVIDIA has made available a new set of beta drivers that promise to boost framerates by up to 26 percent in the latest CoD title.

GeFroce 310.54 is available to download for 32-bit and 64-bit flavors of Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. The biggest performance gain comes to Black Ops 2 (mentioned above) and applies to GeForce GTX 680 graphics cards, while those running a GTX 660 can expect up to 24 percent better framerates in the same game. In addition, NVIDIA focused on increasing performance in Battlefield 3 (up to 16 percent on a GTX 680 and 10 percent on a GTX 660), Assassin's Creed III (up to 18 percent and 5 percent), Skyrim (up to 9 percent and 7 percent), and several other titles.

Other goodies include a bunch of new SLI and 3D Vision profiles, and updates to several supplementary software components, like PhysX, HD Audio, OpenGL, and so forth.

Bear in mind that this is a beta driver, so there may be stability wrinkles that still need to be ironed out.
