NVIDIA Launches DX10 Capable Mobile GeForce 8M

NVIDIA is unveiling a new line-up of GeForce 8 class mobile GPUs today, aptly named the GeForce 8M Series  The GeForce 8M series will initially consist of five devices, the GeForce 8600M GT, 8600M GS, 8400M GT, 8400M GS and the 8400M G.

Well if amd doesnt get their ATI cards out soon they are going to be so far behind nvidia they might not be able to recover at all in the laptop market with this gen of vid cards.

Davo, I've been on other forums and seen a lot of people panning the 8M series for putting features ahead of speed. I've looked at the numbers and even the low-end 8400M G is not a horrible slouch, especially as it's intended for thin-and-light budget gaming books. The 8400M GT looks to be a decent low-end solution from where I sit.

So my question is this: Being that we've only seen the mid-low end offerings, would you say that NVIDIA delivered both performance and features at each price point, keeping in mind that DX-10 is supposed to be fairly efficient now that all the legacy support is no longer included in the core DX-10 modules.
