Microsoft Reveals Xbox One Game List With Plenty Of Exclusives

Much like mobile devices, game consoles live and die based on the software that's created for them. Or, in a worst-case scenario, the software that isn't created for them. Microsoft has a lot riding on the launch of the Xbox One, with a higher price tag and restrictive DRM requirements already working against it. However, the launch-day game lineup is a shining star, as detailed by Microsoft today as Gamescom kicks off in Germany.

"343 Industries, Access Games, Bungie, Capy Games, Crytek, DICE, EA Sports, Infinity Ward, Insomniac Games, Kojima Productions, PopCap Games, Respawn Entertainment, Turn 10 Studios, Ubisoft Montreal and many more" are already crafting Xbox One titles, with 38% of titles expected to be exclusive to the console. 37% will use brand new IP, while 44$ will include either timed or exclusive content to Xbox One. These days, it's about more than just porting a game from one console to the next; it's about providing extra value to one over the other, at least in the eyes of the console maker.

The list below is what titles are en route for Xbox One, and already, we see far too many titles and far too little cash in our wallet. It's an impressive lineup; which title(s) are you most jazzed about?
