Microsoft Retail Stores Now Carry MAINGEAR Potenza Super Stock SFF Gaming PC

On the list of places to acquire a MAINGEAR gaming rig, here’s a notable addition: all of Microsoft’s retail stores nationwide. Microsoft now offers the MAINGEAR Potenza Super Stock small form factor gaming PC in both its brick-and-mortar locations and through its online store, which is a development notable in part because of the dearth of desktop SKUs therein. Indeed, there are only three other desktops in the Microsoft store.

For those close enough to a Microsoft store, you can now saunter over and pick yourself up a system packing impressive specifications. The Microsoft version of the Potenza SS features an Intel Core i7-3770 processor, factory-overclocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (2GB) GPU, 16GB of DDR3-1600 RAM, and a 1TB (7200 RPM) hard drive paired with a 30GB SSD.

There’s also an 8x DVD+/-R/RW optical drive and 24-bit HD audio, and the ports include four USB 3.0; six USB 2.0; HDMI, DisplayPort, and two DVI; P/S2; S/PDIF; line-in, line-out, and mic jacks; and a LAN port. The diminutive system (14.75 x 7.50 x 9.25 inches) comes in black for a price of $1,599.

This is a huge get for MAINGEAR. The company has plenty of competitors in the custom gaming PC space, and even with small form factor PCs in particular, so having the extra exposure afforded by Microsoft will no doubt help them sell quite a few Potenza SS systems.
