A lot of us already have most of the components that make up a good PC, so a purchase of a Mainboard and Processor would be all that we need for now.

MAINGEAR is first out of the gate, I guess, but many more systems are around the corner using this CPU and it would be prudent to wait and see what they have to offer first.

One of the interesting things I see here besides the PC and component's on this price plain is the memory. The 1090T board either user 6 gigabytes in dual channel mode or tri channel mode. This is interesting because until now AMD has been always 4GB. This of course "6GB" will work much better with a 64 bit operating system, but will it cause a bottle neck with 6GB on a dual channel "I am assuming here" platform, rather than 8GB (two 4GB sticks).

I don't recall seeing an 890GX board that supported triple channel configurations. I think AMD is stuck with dual channel for now because they are keeping with their backwards comparability. I know the memory controller is on the chip, but I think that if they changed it, they would also have to change the motherboard.

Look at the configurator, it's 2x2GB + 2x1GB.  ;)
