Gaming PCs can come in all shapes and sizes, but I'm willing to bet that all-in-one isn't one of the first to come to mind. MSI would like to change that, and has built a great-looking model to help. It's called the "Wind Top AG2712", where the 27 represents the 27-inch display. With this machine, MSI claims the first gaming AIO at this size on the market.
Let's tackle some specs, shall we? At the forefront, the rig comes equipped with one of Intel's best mobile processors, the Core i7-3630QM. This quad-core model features HyperThreading support and is clocked at 2.4GHz - boostable to 3.4GHz with Turbo. For graphics, we have NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 670MX 3GB. While that card is nowhere near as fast as the desktop 670, it's close in performance to the GTX 560, so running your favorite games at the monitor's native resolution of 1080p shouldn't prove to be too much of a problem.
While the Wind Top AG2712 will come in a couple of different configurations, you'll have the option to have up to a 128GB SSD installed (alongside the default 1TB hard drive), replace the DVD-RW drive with a Blu-ray and also opt for a touch screen (something I tend to recommend nowadays, although it's hardly a make-or-break feature for the desktop).
Other smaller features include 2x 5W speakers with THX TruStudio Pro, 1Gbit/s Ethernet (the chipset is not mentioned), wireless 802.11 b/g/n, 3-in-1 card reader, 2 megapixel "HD" webcam, 4x USB 3.0 ports, 2x USB 2.0 ports, audio in/out and both HDMI and VGA for video.
Unlike so many other AIOs on the market, it seems that MSI itself created the motherboard for use in this one (not a true surprise, though), as it touts the company's Military Class II components. That means it has Hi-C and solid capacitors and super ferrite chokes - essentially, higher-quality components that (hopefully) prolongs the lifespan of the machine.
There's no word on pricing yet, but we'd expect the Wind Top AG2712 to hit etail and retail within the next few weeks.
