Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Notebook: Super Slim And Sexy

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Notebook: Super Slim And Sexy

Lenovo's ThinkPad line has always been sexy in its own way. Solid, rigid, and robust, but also classy and understated. It's a design that has withstood the test of time, and there's no sense in changing what works. But a gentle tweak and a nip-tuck never hurt a notebook, that's for sure.

Just as MSI's X-Slim line and Apple's MacBook Air redefined "thin" in the laptop realm, the newly unveiled ThinkPad X1 is about to do the same for the classic ThinkPad range. This highly portable device is about the thinnest business notebook we've seen to date, and while Lenovo hasn't "officially" put it on sale yet, there's no question that it's legitimate and very real.

The highlight of the device is the external enclosure and the "slice" battery. Reportedly, this new battery technology will allow it to recharge in next to no time, with claims of 2.5x faster than previous ThinkPad batteries being thrown about. We still have to wait to find out the actual specifications, but at least there's no doubt that they're on the way. Warm those credit cards up!

It definitely looks very sexy and great for an ultra portable. The only issue I have found with the quick charge technology that they mention in the bottom of the article is that batteries can actually be damaged and have a reduced life from rapid charging. Hopefully they have figured out some way around this limitation.

The slice battery seems like a cool tech, hopefully it doesn't drain 2.5x faster! I like to see companies putting money into battery tech as well as the rest of the hardware. It seems to be the place most devices are lacking nowadays. Good work Lenovo.

Looking good! I'm hoping they will have the kinks for the new battery technology worked out before the official launch.

maybe it's just me looking at this at the wrong time earlier so .came back too look at it again to be fair

and simply put I just do not like this particular slim line at all.maybe it's just too slim? I just don't know.

but I do know ...that I just do not like it. and that's that.
