LaCie Reveals Tiny Rugged HDD In Up To 1.5TB Sizes
Neil Poulton is back and once again lending his design talents to LaCie, with the introduction of yet another rugged drive showcasing his latest work.
The LaCie Rugged Mini offers a 40% size reduction compared to the prior model, and it includes shock-, rain- and pressure-resistance and a full software suite with 10GB of Wuala secure online storage. It was announced in 500GB and 1TB capacities, with a 1.5TB model slated for next month. When that ships, it will become the first mobile LaCie drive to feature a size greater than 1TB.
Connectivity-wise, the drive comes with USB 3.0 and the Private-Public software with AES data encryption and password protection to keep things quick and secure.
The Rugged Mini will be available soon in 500 GB or 1TB capacities through the LaCie Online Store, LaCie Corner, and LaCie Reseller+ starting at the suggested retail price of $95.00.
