Intel To Respond To EU Charges

The European Commission, the EU's antitrust watchdog, is eagerly awaiting Intel's response to last year's charges of anti-competitive behavio(u)r.  The original complaint stemmed from Intel allegedly pricing chips below the cost to manufacture them in an attempt to gain market share.

We're expecting Intel to respond sometime today.

“The Commission originally gave Intel until October 8 to respond but extended that to January 4. That was then followed by the further extension on Friday.”

Intel has constantly maintained that they've followed the letter of the law, and it wouldn't surprise if Intel continued to do so in their forthcoming statement.
