lol why the hate on facebook, people :D

Inspector:

lol why the hate on facebook, people :D

Cause facebook is a stupid social network. Seriously, I know lots of people use it and I have an account that I never use but it seems like the focus seems to be turned away from friendship and more towards likes and those stupid games like Farmville. I even wrote a detailed article about it after the last Facebook-related HotHardware contest ended, check it out.

Seriously, what's the point of becoming a fan of these pages, sharing these pages and doing all these other things when these companies already have the recognition. I mean I've barely used half of the products listed (except for EVGA and Seagate.) So why should I go around becoming a fan and sharing the word for them just so I can enter a contest?

So you can win a kickass rig... it's a small price to pay in my opinion :P

Taylor, It's not a contest sponsored by Facebook in any way, shape or form. Facebook is merely one of the mediums, in addition to HH, that we want to get the word out on. And these companies, including HH all have FB pages because there are 750+M people on the network. We're aiming to build community here and FB is one way to do that.

you are failing to see this from a business perspective. The companies are giving away relatively expensive equipment just for a one random person to have?

No, the companies are networking, appealing to customers, getting excitement around their brand/product, etc. etc. etc. It's a business move, just a customer-centric one.
