Facebook Phone Gets More Real With Leaked Android UI Shots

Despite Mark Zuckerberg’s protestations to the contrary, evidence is mounting that Facebook will indeed be releasing a Facebook-skinned phone. The latest confirmation comes from some leaked screenshots of the UI, which looks rich and clean.

9to5Google posted the images, which include separate Status, Photo, and Check-In icons above the apps on the main home screen, a colorful notification center that incorporates texts, phone calls, and social media all together, and copious sharing options for photos.

The above is all in addition to AndroidPolice’s shots of the “Facebook Home” build, which is apparently the name of the Facebook-centric Android skin. One item of note is that the two sites disagree on the name of the phone, with one calling it the “Myst” and the other the “First”.

It’s probable that in any case, HTC will be making the phone, and it will probably be somewhat midrange; leaked specs suggest a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, Android Jelly Bean, HTC Sense 4.5, a 5MP rear camera and a 1.6MP front camera, WiFi and Bluetooth, and a 4.3-inch screen.

In all likelihood, Facebook will put all rumors to rest later today when it makes a Facebook/Android announcement at its Menlo Park headquarters. Stay tuned.
