Hey, what do you know... Another tablet
! At this point, there are simply
too many tablets on the horizon to even list off, but suffice it to say,
you won't have any problems finding solutions if you go hunting for a tablet PC. It's more of a questions of your own personal needs at this point, since lots of offerings on various platforms are slated (no pun intended) for release this year. ExoPC is a company that's still working on
bringing a final product to market, but their product is shaping up to
be one of the better versions of a Windows 7-based model to come out this year.
We're hearing that the unit will feature an 11.6" touch screen display,
along with Broadcom's Crystal HD chipset, which will enable full HD video
playback. Other specifications include 2GB of RAM, a 32GB solid state
drive, an Atom N270 processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet and a custom
user interface that's nothing like we've ever seen.
Currently, the device is on track for a September release at $599;
that's more expensive than some, but having Windows 7 on-board (versus
Android, for example), bumps up the cost. Then again, this pricing lines right up against the 32GB variant of the iPad. Regardless, the ExoPC tablet sure looks attractive on
paper, but who knows if it will face the same fate as the JooJoo
which so far has been met with a bit of criticism and disappointment.
