Eurocom Adds Xeon X5690 CPU To Panther 2.0 Mobile Workstation

Eurocom has made a name for themselves over the years, primarily for producing some of the wildest, most cutting-edge notebooks out there. Of course, most of the baddest are all the biggest, but if your primary goal is to get a powerhouse, who really cares about size? The company's Panther 2.0 mobile server / workstation is one of those big beasts, and it's being updated today with a new chip from Intel.

The 3.46GHz Xeon Processor X5690 is the newest chip to fall into the machine, and it's also equipped with 3.25TB of hard drive space (it can handle four SATA-300 / SATA-600 drives!), a built-in Uninterrupted Power Supply, Gigabit Ethernet, a 17" 1080p LCD, plenty of room for 24GB of DDR3 memory, Wi-Fi, and options for NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 480M, GTX 470M, GTX 460M, Quadro FX 3800M and FX 5000M. No pricing information is available yet, but we're guessing "cheap" doesn't fit the paradigm with specifications like that.

Eurocom adds Intel Xeon Processor X5690 to Panther 2.0 Mobile Server and Mobile Workstation

Eurocom Corporation (www.eurocom.com), the world's leading developer of highly personalized, high-performance notebook PCs and energy efficient All-in-One PCs, is now supporting the groundbreaking Intel Xeon Processor X5690 in its line of Mobile Server and Mobile Workstation notebooks.

The EUROCOM Mobile Server Technology significantly reduces the time and cost of deploying short-term LAN based solutions and of extending usage of existing business applications to users wherever is required. Eurocom has developed a concept called "Server-on-the-Go" where a team of Engineers in the field operating under a RED Team strategy utilize a Eurocom Mobile Server to receive and process feedback while being face-to-face with customers, co-developers, final users and other third parties.

“We offer the most highly capable hardware components inside our systems to ensure our customers are never limited by their computer equipment” said Mark Bialic, President of Eurocom “This is why Eurocom always strives to support the newest and best technology on the market.”

All Eurocom systems are custom built to the customer’s specifications; this allows them to configure their platform to be a Mobile Server, Mobile Workstation or a Ultra High Performance Gaming Rig.

Eurocom’s Panther line of high performance Mobile Workstations and Mobile Servers will be bolstered by the introduction of the Intel XEON Processor X5690. Eurocom Mobile Workstations and Mobile Servers are ideal for the professional who frequently travels yet needs access to high performance computing.

EUROCOM Panther series provides server-calibre capabilities with 3.25 Terabytes of storage with four physical SATA-300 or SATA-600 Solid State, Hybrid or Hard Disk Drives and RAID 0/1/5/10, Intel XEON 6-core X5690, built in UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply), Gigabit Ethernet port on-board, and with an integrated 17” LCD display and keyboard.

The Intel Xeon X5690 is a LGA1366 processor based on the 32 nm Westmere-EP silicon. It carries a nominal clock-speed of 3.46 GHz with a max turbo frequency of 3.73 GHz, interconnect speed of 6.4 GT/s, and supports triple-channel registered DDR3 memory with an integrated memory controller. Cache levels include 256 KB L2 cache per core, and 12 MB L3 cache.

The Xeon X5690 equipped Eurocom Panther 2.0 is ideally suited for a wide range of infrastructure, cloud, high-density and high performance mobile computing applications. Eurocom currently works with Software and/or database developers, Training Centres, Military, Military Service Organizations, Scientific Researchers, Emergency Relief Organizations, Law Enforcement Agencies, Engineering and Design Firms on Mobile Server projects.

Built-in hardware-assisted virtualization technology with Intel Flex Migration gives customers the power and flexibility to virtualize different generations of Intel Xeon based servers within the same pool.
With up to 24 GB of memory there is sufficient RAM for nearly any demanding application.
