Corsair Announces Limited Edition 1.5V 8GB Dominator GT Kit

– New 2x4GB kit boasts the most aggressive timing specification in its class –

FREMONT, California — July 19th, 2011 — Corsair®, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced availability in limited quantities of a new 1.5V 8GB Dominator® GT DDR3 memory kit with an aggressive timing specification.

The new 8GB dual-channel DDR3 kit is guaranteed to operate at 2133MHz at a memory voltage of 1.5V, and with a groundbreaking timing specification of CL9-11-9. With latency settings this low, the Dominator GT modules have the most aggressive timing specification of any 2x4GB 21333MHz 1.5V memory kit available today.

The new hand-assembled Dominator GT memory kit is the product of a multi-stage component screening process in which individual memory ICs are screened before assembly onto the PCBs, which then undergo additional rigorous testing to ensure reliable performance. Qualification is performed on Intel® P67 and P55 motherboards, using the same rigorous test cycle applied to the rest of Corsair's memory product lines. As with all Corsair memory products, Dominator GT is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

"The unprecedented timing specification on the 1.5V Dominator GT kit makes it ideal for overclocking," said Giovanni Sena, Director of Memory Products at Corsair. "Dominator GT memory is designed for enthusiasts who are obsessed with pushing their PC's performance to the limit, and this latest kit is a worthy addition to the family."

The 1.5V 8GB Dominator GT (CMT8GX3M2A2133C9) DDR3 memory kit comes complete with Corsair's patented DHX+ heatsinks and an AirFlow 2 GTL Cooling Fan for exceptional thermal performance. It may be purchased directly from Corsair.com for $499 USD. Limited quantities are available. About DHX+ Technology

Corsair's patented DHX+ technology uses specially designed, high-quality heatsinks and a custom-designed PCB that allows both the front and rear of the memory ICs, and the printed circuit board itself, to be cooled. DHX+ technology also allows for the cooling fins to be removed, allowing for a range of modular cooling accessories including extended heatsink fins and the AirFlow Pro™ dynamic temperature and activity display. DHX and DHX+ designs are covered by US Patent number 7,606,034.

Sexy....

Indeed and with dual channel kits you'll see more of a performance boost from higher clock speeds, versus say tri-channel X58 setups.

"An amazing feat indeed by Corsair, lets give them the props they deserve. Yeah they are sexy, but , C'mon Son, $499 for 8GB, how about offering 16GB for that price. Anyhow, Thats about $62 per Gig. For $60 you can buy an 8GB 1600 kit. You be nuts to even pay for these just to show off."

I paid $279.98 for my Mushkin Redline 2133mhz RAM,.......16GB of it in two kits of 8GB. (CL9-9-11-10-28) Each kit was $139.99 shipped.

'Yeah ,but unlike sports memorabilia and comics, Limited Edition doesn't really apply to RAM, in a few month either Corsair will have these at a reasonable price point or some other RAM vendor will duplicate the performance and have it for "Unlimited" availability."  So anyone that buys these now, Is just a Sucker."

These things are hot and you certainly are paying for the quality. Hand selected ICs and quality testing.

Corsair has done it again.

I agree with OPT!

At that price it should at leat be DDR5! Come on....WHERE IS OUR DDR5!!!

Seems like the RAM companies are trying to hold on to that last gasp of high priced RAM kits in this era of cheap Asian produced hardware! Just like the Flat screens, if you send it over there to get the manufacturing at pennies on the dollar, dont try and sell it to us for C notes!

:), im sure they will be selling these in time as unlimited availability, if you can make the money... do it! :D

Props to Corsair, always doing good :)

WOW, jeez all that speed at 1.5v too. Imagine what we could do with those suckers at 1.65v. that price is just plain out of my budget though so I can't really say I'm that interested.
