Conan Interviews The Real Intel USB Port Rock Star

Ah, those USB ports. From 1.0 to 2.0 to the upcoming 3.0, they are near ubiquitous, so much so that Firewire has taken a back seat. And speaking of back seats, since Jay Leno left the Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien has taken a back seat to David Letterman as well. In an attempt to raise his ratings, O'Brien interviewed one of Intel's rock stars, Ajay Bhatt, the co-inventor of the USB port.

Interestingly, as Conan mentioned, Ajay Bhatt was featured in one of Intel's own rock star ad (above) was a fake, an actor. Conan interviewed the real Bhatt. Additionally, Bhatt appeared in a snarky ad put up by Conan, which is at least as good as the official Intel one.

The real Ajay Bhatt - No stunt double needed...

In particular, the line "Are you enjoying the USB port" (above) Bhatt gave to some admittedly hot women, was particularly funny.  Now, using an actor sort of seems like airbrushing on a whole new level doesn't it?  Now, about those USB 3 ports on our new laptops?  Can we talk?

Watch the snarkiness:

Lol, funny interview. Never watch Conan O'Brien but occasionally do enjoy some of his bits.

Simple fact of the day: The guy also invented the PCI EXPRESS

Interview was ok,...

I still watch Leno but if I'm up late it's Letterman for me. Conan is a PITA to watch.

Conan is my favorite late night talk show host. His bits have gotten a little more staid since he moved to the Tonight Show, but he took a lot of good stuff with him-- though I hope for the return of Preparation H Raymond. And Andy Richter is one of the funniest people on TV today, especially when he's unscripted. Gotta love "In The Year 3000!"

The interview was good, reminiscent of when Conan went to the Intel student science fair. I especially liked when Ajay walked past the inventor of IEEE 1394 in the gutter. It could happen.

I'm a Conan fan, much funnier than Leno or Letterman. Plus almost all of his skits are funny, even if they are watered down and not as "racy" as they were on the late night show (which I don't watch anymore due to Jimmy Fallon not being very funny).

Agree about Jimmy Fallon. Just doesn't seem comfortable in front of the camera. He's new so maybe he needs a little time.

Jimmy Fallon never could make it through a single Saturday Night Live skit without laughing. I'm not sure time in front of the cameras is going to help him.

By George, you're right!

Here's Fallon ruining the infamous SNL cowbell skit:

Yeah, I was never a fan of Fallon on SNL, and even less so as a late night talk show host. It's weird. There are occasionally good skit ideas on LNwJF, but the execution is horrible; just think of what Leno, O'Brien, or Letterman could do with "New iPhone Apps." He did that last week and it was like he was reading from a phone book. I imagine it'd be funny if you were high enough, but frankly there's not enough weed in Philadelphia to make me laugh at him. Or even with him.

But Leno's monologue is one of the best around, and Headlines is almost always hilarious. Plus he's on early enough now so that I can call Mom afterward and talk-- we used to do that after E.R., but that got cancelled.
