Borderlands 2 Discount Kicks Off Microsoft's 'Countdown to 2014' Sale for Xbox 360 Games

So you've decided to stick with your Xbox 360 console rather than make the jump to Microsoft's recently released Xbox One or Sony's PlayStation 4, is that it? There's no shame in that, and some would say it's even fiscally responsible. Of course, that begs the question of what else you could spend your saved money on, and one option is to stock up on some titles you may have missed when they first came out.

Microsoft's "Countdown to 2014 Deals" promotion starts today with a select group of downloadable content wielding hefty discounts. Headlining the group of virtual goods is Borderlands 2, which is yours for the taking for $7.49, or 75 percent off its normal selling price.

Other discounted goodies in today's batch of deals include:
  • Vault Hunter Upgrade 2 - Add-on: 50 percent off
  • Psycho Pack - Add-on: 50 percent off
  • Headhunter 1 Bloody Harvest - Add-on: 50 percent off
  • Borderlands 2 Season Pass - Add-on: 33 percent off
  • Terraria (On sale Wednesday) - Arcade: 67 percent off

A new batch of discounts will appear each day. These can and will include games, add-ons, avatars, and more from the Xbox Game Store. In addition, Microsoft has marked down an assortment of games and add-ons up to 90 percent up until December 23. Fruit Ninja Kinect, for example, is marked down 90 percent, as is X-Men: Origins Wolverine Weapon X. If you haven't played Bioshock Infinite yet, you can snag that title for $13.99, which is 65 percent off its normal selling price.
