Best Buy Survey Hints at 42-inch Apple TV Selling for $1,499

Best Buy has been sending out consumer surveys asking for people's opinions on potential products and services that could be released. It's a common practice for retailers to do this and normally no one would bat and eyelash at such a survey, but the fact that Best Buy is gauging customers, in detail, about an Apple brand HDTV has people wondering if the oft rumored panel might finally be nearing release.

The survey, which was tipped anonymously to The Verge with a screen capture, presents a potential ad for a 42-inch Apple HDTV at Best Buy for $1,499. "Apple finally reinvents what a TV can do," the ad starts off.

A recent Best Buy surveys gauges consumer opinion about a 42-inch Apple brand TV with iOS baked in.

The survey/ad details a 42-inch 1080p LED flat panel display incorporating Apple's iOS found in its Apple TV set-top box, which would allow viewers to purchase and stream movies and other content from the Internet. Viewers would also be able to download apps from Apple's App Store, and use their iPad or iPhone to purchase those apps, or as a full-fledged remote control.

One of the more interesting bullet points in the mock ad is the inclusion of a built-in iSight camera and microphone for Skype. Apple introduced iSight almost a decade ago and more recently began referring to iSight webcams as FaceTime cameras.
