Asus Teases Eee Pad Transformer 2 Tablet with Short Video

Asus is hard at work readying a second generation Eee Pad Transformer 2 tablet. How do we know? They went and put together a short 22-second video clip full of theatrics and light on teaser shots, but what is revealed definitely has us wanting to see more. Like before, the Transformer 2 will have a detachable dock so you can use it as a notebook, but the whole thing looks a lot sleeker than before, almost like a hybrid Ultrabook of sorts.

All that we can tell from the video is that it's thin and has a camera on the back with LED flash. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess what this thing will come packing. Probably Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Pocket-lint claims to have "exclusively confirmed" with Asus that Ice Cream Sandwich is coming to the original Eee Pad Transformer, which means it's a safe bet it will also ship on the Transformer 2.

Update10/19 - 10:30PM:  It looks like Android ICS and NVIDIA's Tegra 3 have been confirmed as standard equipment for the Transformer 2.  Asus CEO Jonney Shih officially unveiled the tablet last night at the AsiaD summit.

According to sources at the event, the tablet will in fact sport NVIDIA's Kal-El quad-core chip, now known as Tegra 3, mini-HDMI, a 10-inch LCD, mini-HDMI and a claimed 14+ hour battery life. Shih also let slip that Ice Cream Sandwich should hit tablets by the end of the year (or earlier), including the previous generation Asus Eee Pad Transformer.
