Apple closes down OS X

Well, that didn't take long now did it?  After switching to Intel based microprocessors for their Macintosh machines a few months ago, Apple obviously had to release a new version of OSX to power the machines. And said version is now locked down in part due to Apple's fear of pirates selling Mac-Clones. Check out this article at Inforworld for the full story...

"Thanks to pirates, or rather the fear of them, the Intel edition of Apple's OS X is now a proprietary operating system. Mac developers and power users no longer have the freedom to alter, rebuild, and replace the OS X kernel from source code. Stripped of openness, it no longer possesses the quality that elevated Linux to its status as the second most popular commercial OS."
