Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) comes to a close tomorrow, and barring a last minute surprise, it will have come and went without a new iPhone announcement. Perhaps the reason why is because Apple hasn't figured out exactly how it wants to proceed. Should the company add features to the iPhone 5
's body, or take a page from Samsung
and offer various sized handsets?
Citing "four people with knowledge of the matter," Reuters
is reporting that Apple is still considering larger size iPhone models with bigger displays, as well as cheaper handsets in a range of color options. Picture the iPod touch and its handful of color options, only with the ability to make phone calls, too.
These have all been through the rumor mill
before, though this time around, sources are saying Apple may introduce at least two
larger iPhone models. One would wield a 4.7-inch display, just slightly smaller than Samsung's Galaxy S4
, and the other would feature a 5.7-inch display, which is even bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2
It's difficult keeping up with all the Apple rumors, and one reason for that is because "they constantly change product specifications almost to the final moment," one of the sources told Reuters
. And of course Apple never comments on rumors or speculation.
Nothing is out of the realm of possibility at this point, especially as its rival Samsung continues to gain market share by offering multiple handsets, such as the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 mini
, and Galaxy S4 zoom
, to name just three from the same product family.
