Apple Founder, Visionary, Genius - Steve Jobs Passes On

As members of the press, we are tasked with telling a story, giving perspective, or relaying a message.  But how do you possibly articulate in words, a message that simply must be delivered with such respect, clarity and importance, that it challenges the very language in which you speak, in order to convey the message properly.  Such is the case at any and all occasions, where loved ones are lost, we suppose. So in a sense, this news, perhaps is no different.  However, Steve Jobs, without question, was an extraordinary man by any measure.

Icon. Visionary.  Founder.  Genius.  These words have all been used to describe and articulate to the world the message of the life and times of Steve Jobs.  They are fitting indeed.

Rest easy brother, father, and husband Steven.  You have made your mark on this world. And it is a finer place with what you've created and left behind.

Thank you.  God speed and here's to your next creation.

Apple's page offers a simple message and an email address is available, as you can see in the above image.  You can head to http://www.apple.com/stevejobs/ and share your thoughts as well.

I never shook his hand. And sometimes disagreed with his vision. But I feel a real sense of loss with this news. Jobs was a true genius and visionary. The world is now a less interesting place.

Thanks for posting this Dave/Marco. I truly hope that his family is at peace in their time of grief knowing that he is no longer in pain. Having lived through several family members dieing of Cancer those last few months are excruciating to watch.

He changed the world and certainly left his mark on many people.

Appreciate you Gentleman having to bring us the sad news.He sure made quite an impact in the world for all of us.I really did not care for those so-called leaked pictures of him a while back & hate to see anyone suffer. I certainly hope that the family members can have some privacy and respect at this time and can come to peace with his passing. There is a genuine hole of sadness, and the world will miss him because he did change it ,was very innovative, a true genius  and inspirational to all.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

"Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish."

I sent off a nice email a few minutes ago and feel good about doing so.

"Icon. Visionary. Founder. Genius." ....Perfect, Dave! There can't be a single person to disagree with this!

He was a brilliant man, and even the Apple haters know that!

Thank you for the article

Words rarely fail me--I've written too many of them over the past ten years. This is a case where I'm not sure what to say.

I'm not surprised, given his poor health in recent years, but it's unfortunate to lose him at such a relatively young age. Godspeed, Steve. May the wind be at your back.

R.I.P Steve, you have done all you can for the technology world. You have advanced us and bringing the world the push for music, smartphones, tablets and more.

Indeed he will be missed and I 2nd everything all of you have said.

I am with Marco back in the day I totally did not get the whole Apple fascination. I thought their products were over priced toys that Microsoft or anyone else could produce cheaper.

After the years have passed by though and looking at the company they were 1st class top notch products if for nothing else what he did for Apple he made Microsoft put out a great OS called Windows 7, remember the Vista debacle???? Apple set the standard.

Yes, Steve Jobs will truly be remembered as one of the pioneering greats of the digital revolution. Remembered for the passion that he brought to the table whether at Apple or Pixar, movies or computers, phones or tablets. No one can ever say he didn't give his all. He pushed every one to innovate, to think outside the box, not only inside the companies he founded, but companies large and small around the globe.

I wish his family peace, knowing the sorrow they feel at this moment, for my parents passed on due to cancer in the past three years. Know that the whole world grieves with you, our hearts reach out to you, and Steve most assuredly loved you.

Rest in peace Steve, and may Heaven receive you with open arms.

Wow... A real shame. It's sad to see a visonary who inspired the technology world pass away. Cancer can be such a b-word.

I'm not going to quote Steve Job's quotes but I am going to say that he encouraged anyone to do anything they want to and he proved that anybody can change things around if they put their minds to it.

May you rest in peace dear Steve, let you invent iDevices up in heaven.

I don't really know what to say, the world has lost a great soul, a genius, and a visionary of technology if not of humanity in general. Sarah came downstairs earlier and asked me why I had not told her that he had passed, and I did not know what to say! A better man than me has passed this way, and from this place on this day, the world will be a lesser place for it. I wish the best to his family, children and various kindred spirits still left on it. Rest in peace Steven Paul Jobs!!!

By the way I do not own a single Apple product, I use an Android smart phone, a laptop by gateway, 1 personal PC I built myself, 1 I won here 2 years ago with minor upgrades, and have been on the internet since BBS and IRQ were it!

We lost a great man today!

Steve Jobs opened a whole new realm of possibilities and helped to continually innovate the tech world. It is not a stretch to say that technology is an integral part of our lives: affecting how quickly we receive our news, share information and connect with ones we care about. Mr. Jobs had a profound effect on the advancement of the world and he will be missed. Steve Jobs may you Rest In Peace.
