Amazon Updates Kindle For Android App, Supports Honeycomb

Kindle for Android is nothing new; the app has been around for a long while, giving users of Google's mobile OS the ability to tap into Amazon's vast e-book store and buy / read material right on their Android device. But the swarm of Android tablets have had to use a non-optimized version for awhile now. Thankfully, Amazon's fixing that. The company released a new build of the app this week that brings new features and adds support for tablet computers running Android's Honeycomb, including the Motorola Xoom. The latest version of Kindle for Android includes an integrated immersive shopping experience tailored for tablets, a new layout for newspapers and magazines designed for the unique interface of Honeycomb, and dozens of other new enhancements that take advantage of the larger screens.

The functionality of the app has only expanded, and it can be downloaded right away from the Amazon Appstore or the Android Market. As for those new features? There's a new seamless integrated shopping experience tailored for tablets, refined newspaper and magazine layout, the ability to pause/resume downloads and enhanced word look-up capabilities.

So, using this on your Honeycomb tablet? How's the experience?
