Alleged AMD Radeon HD 3870 X2

Pictures of something that the nice boys at ChipHell (is that where bad chips go when they die?) are alleging is an actual Radeon HD 3870 X2 have surfaced and apparently it's a tad on the large side.  The card pictured below supposedly has a pair of RV670 GPUs under its hood.  Let's have a look-see...

777 MHz GPU, 1GB of 2.25 GHz GDDR3?

Hmm... Indeed, not one but two GPU heatsink blocks are visible underneath that cooling shroud.  Of course it's fun to flitter around in rumor and speculation but you can believe it when (if) you see it on the benchmark charts here at HH, which we're told should be sometime in January.

Dave are you giving us a hint? if the image is true, which i won't doubt that it means that either ATI/AMD are getting the groove on and this is a taste for things to come. Which i personally believe that is what it is. Right now i can't discard anything for the loving of freaking God we are in era that 8 Core would be in a daily computers. back when i started in 94 i was happy with a Trident 9440 and my Pentium I486 and now i can't get off my C2D in a lappy. I'm writing this into my history books for my boy's
