Acer Debuts Aspire X3 And M3 Mini-Desktops

Who says Acer is all about notebooks? While the company may certainly ship quite a few portable computers, there's still a desktop market out there that needs catered to. Enter the Aspire X3 and M3 lineups, two new desktop ranges that Acer is bringing to the U.S.

Both of these are on the smaller side of desktops, perfect for bedrooms, studios and any other location where space comes at a premium and you're not in any need of serious horsepower. The X3 comes in a black small-form-factor case, aimed for placement on desks and available with 4GB of RAM and either AMD's Athlon II, Phenom II or Intel's Core i3 or Pentium E6600 CPUs. Users can also get up to 1TB of storage space and an NVIDIA GeForce 9200 or integrated Intel GMA HD graphics set.

The M3 "Microtower" is said to be a "multi-tasking monster," offering a lot more expansion options and outfitted with an AMD Athlon II or AMD Phenom II. There's also an ATI HD 5450 or NVIDIA GeForce 9200 GPU set, not to mention a few audio jacks, USB 2.0 ports and a 640GB hard drive. There's even two open PCIe slots if you need to throw in a TV tuner or the like. The new machines are available now starting at $449.99.
