AT&T Debuts AirCard 890 With ExpressCard And PCMCIA Support

Mobile data use is sharply on the rise. There's really no arguing that. A lot of data flows through AT&T's network, and with the introduction of this new card, a lot more probably will. Sierra Wireless has just announced one of the more unique WWAN cards that we have ever seen, and in fact, it's the first on AT&T's network to boast a "2-in-1" form factor. This means that it can support both ExpressCard and PC Card (PCMCIA) slots, so regardless of which you have, you'll be all set here.

The AirCard 890 is the most versitile LaptopConnect card ever, and it's able to support AT&T's high-speed 7.2Mbps HSPA technology. It also has integrated GPS technology which enables location-based services to work, making it easier than ever for customers to get to their desired destination, or providing benefits to companies with a mobile workforce. The AirCard 890 also ships with AT&T's Global Network Client (AGNC), which provides business customers integrated and highly secure connectivity with AT&T VPN Services.

It will be on sale starting on May 5 for $49.99 after mail-in rebate and a new two-year DataConnect contract of at least $35 a month.
