A-DATA Announces SATAII SSD 300 Plus

A-DATA has been on a surefire roll of late with new introductions in its flash memory family, and it seems that roll isn't stopping today. Shortly after delivering a 512GB 2.5" XPG SSD, the company has now introduced a slightly less high-end model that's half as roomy but still exceptionally fast.

The 2.5" SATAII SSD 300 Plus features an all new controller and a special mobile SDRAM module that purportedly makes it quite the speed demon compared to traditional SSDs. For instance, the new drive increases data read speeds by upwards of 40 percent and write speeds by as much as 60 percent. Specifically, that's a sustained read rate of 250MB/sec and a write rate of 160MB/sec.

As with its other SSDs, this one is also shock and vibration resistant, and it will ship in capacities of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Too bad we're not given a price, but we suspect it won't be what we'd call "affordable."
