Rocket League Vehicular Soccer Sim Brings The Carnage To Xbox One On February 17th

Have you been salivating at the prospect of doling out some serious vehicular mayhem on your Xbox One game console, all in the name of sport? You'll get your chance soon enough—developer Psyonix announced that Rocket League will ride over to the Xbox One on Wednesday, February 17th for $20.

This has been a long time coming. Rocket League released to PlayStation 4 and PC in early July of last year, bringing with it both single-player and mulitplayer modes, including cross-platform play between the PS4 and Windows. It debuted to a receptive audience more than willing to knock a soccer ball around a giant field using rocket-powered cars. Think of it as soccer meets demolition derby.

In December of last year, Psyonix said it was wrapping up work on a port to the Xbox One, which it anticipated having ready by February. No specific date was given at the time, but barring any last minute delays, Xbox One games only have one more week to wait until it arrives.

"Fully optimized for Microsoft’s all-in-one system, Rocket League offers the same excellent content, upgrades, and features found in the PlayStation®4 and Steam versions, but comes jam-packed with exclusives and bonuses from new cars to antennas, wheels, and rocket trails," Psyonix said.

Xbox One gamers who purchase the game will receive all three previously released content packs, including Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run. Psyonix will also toss in a pair of vehicles based on Halo's Warthog and Gears of War's Armadillo APC.
