Logitech’s C922 Pro Webcam Is The C920 Successor Video Streamers Have Been Waiting For

If you’re a diehard video streamer, Logitech has just announced a much-improved successor to its incredibly popular C920. The C920 webcam has been with us for nearly five years, and it has served with distinction during that time, but the new C922 Pro is here to carry the streaming torch.

While it keeps the same form-factor that served the C920 so well, the C922 can capture 1080p video at 30 frames per second and 720p at 60 frames per second (the C920 was limited to 30 frames per second at 720p). The performance upgrade will definitely be welcome to Twitch and YouTube streamers as well as vloggers around the globe.

But perhaps the most intriguing new feature of the C922 is the inclusion of dynamic background replacement software, which is provided courtesy of Personify. The background replacement software acts like a virtual green screen and effectively trims your body out of the “real” background in your current environment, and allows you to replace it with a background of your choice. Gamers can even overlay game footage in the background using the software.

Other features include dual omni-directional noise-cancelling microphones, automatic low-light correction, and “premium” autofocus.

Logitech says that it will be selling two different versions of the C922 Pro at the retail level. The C922 is available Best Buy locations and Logitech.com, and will include a tripod plus a three-month license for XSplit Premium. The C922x is only available from Amazon.com and ditches the tripod, but counters with a six-month XSplit Premium license.

The Logitech C922 Pro is available for purchase today and is priced at $99.99 for both SKUs.
