ASUS Zen AiO Pro Brings Glitz To All-In-One Market With 4K Visuals, Discrete GPU, and Icicle Gold Body
If you're a believer that "Gold is best!," you're going to love the Midas touch ASUS employed to its newest all-in-one system, the Zen AiO Pro. It's a well designed 23.8-inch AIO sporting an anodized all-aluminum body that will draw inevitable comparisons to Apple's iMac series, but with an "Icicle Gold" color scheme.
"The Zen AiO Pro is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and design, with a slim unibody shell and integral stand forged from aluminum," ASUS explains. "The sophisticated appearance is enhanced by a layer of edge-to-edge glass covering the display, while the rear cover has a brushed-metal finish that complements the spun-metal concentric circles on the front fascia. A vision of elegance, the Zen AiO Pro’s exterior is anodized a stylish yet subtle Icicle Gold color that adds a touch of beauty to any space."
A fancy exterior is a hallmark of the Zen treatment that ASUS applies to select devices and systems, this being one of them. It also extends beyond the external aesthetics and into the internal component selection and overall feature-set.
There are two panel options -- one with a Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) resolution and another with a 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) resolution. Both are high-quality In-Plane Switching (IPS) panels with optional 10-point capacitive multitouch support.
As with most new systems, Intel's Skylake architecture is present and accounted for. In this case, it's represented by a Core i3-6100T, Core i5-6400T, and Core i7-6700T paired with 4GB of DDR4-2133 RAM (expandable to 32GB) and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M (1GB/2GB) or 960M (2GB/4GB) GPU.
ASUS offers flexible storage options -- you can pair a fast 128GB or 256GB SSD with a capacious 1TB HDD, go strictly HDD, use an sold state hybrid drive (SSHD), or go the all-out performance route wit ha 512MB M.2 PCIe Gen 3 x4 SSD.
Other features include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 1MP webcam (2MP Intel RealSense camera optional), four USB 3.0 ports, USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 2.0, two HDMI outputs, GbE LAN, 2-in-1 memory card reader, and Windows 10 Home.
