Amazon Instant Video App Reportedly Arriving Soon For Apple TV Despite Previous Snub

In October, we learned that Amazon is willing to do whatever it takes to help its video service succeed, even if it means disallowing the sales of competing products on its marketplace. If that wasn't enough proof that the company has grand ambitions, a rumor popped-up last week which suggests that the company will soon be partnering with third-party providers to beef up its library with more high-quality content. Of course, it's also hard to ignore that Amazon will soon be home to the three former Top Gear hosts, which could prove to be a major boon in itself.

It now appears that the company is ready to thaw its rather chilly relationship with Apple by working on a version of its Instant Video app for the recently introduced fourth generation Apple TV.

Interestingly, this move wasn't discovered through a leak, but rather a loose-lipped Amazon customer service representative. iOS user Dan Bostonweeks decided to shoot an email to customer service to inquire about the possibility of a tvOS app, and surprisingly, the response was positive. "Hopefully, within a few weeks span, you will be able to see the Amazon Instant Video app feature on your Apple TV," replied the representative that was likely not supposed to make such plans available to the public.

We're not usually blessed to learn from an official source that something of this nature is in the works, much less be given a timeline for it, so this is quite impressive. It's also a great thing for those who are using tvOS and happen to want access to Amazon's streaming services.
