Razer Ressurects Iconic Diamodback Gaming Mouse, Adds Chroma Lighting And Updated Sensor
If you're an old school gamer, then you probably remember Razer's original Diamondback mouse. Released in late 2004 at the World Cyber Games, it was one of Razer's earliest products, with only the Boomslang (multiple versions) and Viper predating it. If you were a fan of the Diamondback, you'll be happy to know that Razer is bringing it back.
This isn't the same Diamondback from a decade ago. It's been updated for the modern gamer, which means colorful LED lighting, something that peripheral makers seem to think is a necessity these days. In this case, the cutomizable Chroma lighting loops around the Diamondback's midsection as a tasteful accent. The sides of the scroll wheel and a logo on the back of the rodent also light up.
Staying true to its predecessor, the new Diamondback is once again suitable for both lefties and right-handed users, making it one of the few ambidextrous gaming mice available. It also maintains the original's slim form factor. However, it boasts a new 16,000 DPI 5G laser sensor this time around, which gamers can adjust in 1 DPI increments via Razer's Synapse software.
