Dual-Screen LG V10 Preorders Begin, LG Offers Free Battery, Cradle, 200GB Memory Card

Sales are about to commence for LG’s latest super-smartphone, the V10, and the first two carriers to take the plunge are AT&T and T-Mobile. AT&T is charging $23.34/month, $29.17/month and $35/month for Next 24, Next 18 and Next 12 install plans respectively. If you choose, to go with an “old school” two-year contract, you’ll pay $249.99 upfront.

T-Mobile, on the other hand, will allow you to purchase the V10 for $0 down, plus payments of $25/month for 24 months. Verizon Wireless will be the third carrier to offer the carry the smartphone, but it hasn’t yet announced its rollout plans. If you’re a Sprint customer, you’re simply out of luck.

For a limited time, LG is offering customers that purchase a V10 from AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless some tasty freebies. As for the smartphone itself, it seems as though QHD (2560x1440) screen resolutions just aren’t enough these days. Sony’s solution was to leapfrog its competition with the semi-4K Xperia Z5 Premium. LG’s solution with its V10 is to provide a standard QHD display and augment it with a smaller, always-on 160 x 1040 “ticker display” at the top of the device (it provides notifications, weather info, and quick access to apps and app settings).

In addition to the secondary display, you’ll find a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, a 16MP rear camera with Laser Auto Focus, dual 5MP selfie cameras and a removable 3000mAh battery. The LG V10 comes preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop rather than the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
