Sony PlayStation Now Game Streaming Drops To $99 Per Year

Never mind that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are both becoming specks in the rear view mirror, the deals, they just keep coming. One of them comes from Sony, which is getting into the holiday spirt by carving the subscription cost of its PlayStation Now streaming service to a hundred bucks, for a limited time.

The temporary reduction goes into effect December 8 (tomorrow). It's a 55 percent savings off the regular monthly subscription, and though it has to be paid in full via one lump sum, it works out to less than $9 per month. Also worth noting is that the discounted subscription isn't just for new subscribers, but can be added as an extension to current 1-month and 3-month subscriptions.

PSNow

If you're unfamiliar with PlayStation Now, it's a cloud-based streaming service that gives gamers access to hundreds of titles, including Batman: Arkham Origins, Assassin's Creed III, The Lego Movie Video Game, God of War III, Uncharted 3, Resident Evil 6, and many more.

PlayStation Now requires a compatible device, which currently include the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, certain Sony Bravia and Samsung Smart TVs, and select Blu-ray players. Gamers also need a DualShock controller and a 5Mbps or better broadband connection.

To help entice gamers to pony up for an annual subscription, Sony is readying a batch of new titles on the service starting tomorrow. Batman: Arkham Asylum and Origins will both join the fray, as will Mortal Kombat, F.E.A.R. (single-player campaign mode), and a whole bunch of Lego games.
