Need for Speed Drifts Onto PC Platform March 15th With 4K, Manual Transmission And Wheel Support

Get out your driving gloves and buckle up folks, the newest Need for Speed title from developer Ghost Games and publisher Electronic Arts is burning rubber to PCs next month with a few new fancy features in tow. One of those is a 4K resolution option with uncapped framerates. If you have the necessary horsepower to drive a 4K gaming experience, you'll be treated to some sweet visuals.

Ghost Games also added manual transmission support to the forthcoming PC release. This was one of the notable omissions when the Need for Speed reboot launched to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 back in early November of last year, and while console gamers will also be getting this amenity at some point, it's not known exactly when.

The other noticeably missing feature from the console launch was steering wheel support. Well, that too is coming to PC. Ghost Games says Need for Speed in Windows will work with a selection of steering wheels from Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec. Apparently the developers incorrectly guessed that it was a feature hardly anyone would miss, but later decided to add support for steering wheels "based purely on community feedback."

"When Need for Speed launches on PC it will also contain all the improvements and tweaks we’ve made up to now, including both the Icons and Legends updates from day one. The Showcase update is currently scheduled to arrive on PC shortly after launch," Ghost Games stated in a blog post.

Need for Speed drifts to PC on March 15. For those of you or are Origin Access members, you'll have early access (for a limited time) beginning March 10.
