Lenovo Launches YOGA Tab 3 And YOGA Tab 3 Pro With 10-Inch QHD Display, Built-in Projector

It wasn’t that long ago that Lenovo debuted its YOGA Tab 2 tablets, complete with Full HD displays and AnyPen Technology. But given that we’re talking about the world’s largest PC OEM, the company doesn’t simply sit idle for too long; it’s constantly iterating to make sure that it stays ahead of its tough competition.

So here we are today witnessing the introduction of the YOGA Tab 3 and its higher-spec’d YOGA Tab 3 Pro Android 5.1 Lollipop tablets. The lesser of the two, the YOGA Tab 3, is available in both 8-inch and 10-inch screen sizes (both with a resolution of 1280x800). It also incorporates a camera that can rotate 180 degrees to capture perfect selfies.

You won’t find any high-end hardware lurking under the hood, as the YOGA Tab 3 incorporates a 1.3GHz Qualcomm APQ8009 processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. However, a microSD slot can bump storage up to 128GB. The tablet features a 6200 mAh battery (8400 mAh for the 10.1-incher) that’s good for up to 20 hours of usage (18 hours for the 10-inch model).

Stepping things up a notch is the YOGA Tab 3 Pro, which brings with its a 10.1-inch QHD (2560x1600) display. Lenovo has crafted the tablet out of “premium materials” using a combination of aluminum and a “leather-like fabric” back.

Powering the tablet is an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor with 2GB of system memory. Customers can choose from either 16GB or 32GB of internal eMMC memory, however, a microSD slot allows you to expand storage by up to 128GB. The unique shape of the YOGA Tab Pro 3 allows it to incorporate a rather large 10,200 mAh battery which is good for up to 18 hours of actual use or 49 days of standby time. Camera duties are handled by a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

However, the most compelling feature of the YOGA Tab 3 Pro (other than its QHD display) is its built-in projector that allows you to project content unto 70-inches onto a wall or ceiling. It also incorporates FOUR front-facing speakers which throw out virtualized Dolby Atmos sound.

The YOGA Tab 3 will run you $169 for the 8-inch model and $199 for the 10-inch model. The YOGA Tab 3 Pro, however, starts at $499. The former two tablets will be available in October, while the latter will bow in November.
